Dear All Students;

Please be informed that ICT is implementing single user id (called NETID, which is your matrix number in small letter e.g kjc1010001) and password access system for students to access related applications and systems such as Student Information Systems (either VOISS, SMS, or PGS), email system (Zimbra email system) and E-lib (Library System).

You can change your password on your own by using the "Change and Reset Password" system. You can also reset your password without having to call or send an ATS request to our CRM.

You are required to register (one time only) your details with all the essential information required such as three chosen questions with your personalized answers, before you can use the reset password facility. You need to remember your NETID id and the answers to those chosen questions to reset your password. You can also change your chosen questions and its answers accordingly.

The system is accessible through the UNITAR web site at "Current Students" or this url http://sspr2.unitar.edu.my .

Please login into the system now, using your current matrix number as your NETID and "Unitar10" as your default password and change your NETID password immediately.

You can then access your Zimbra email system by using this new password. Your old Zimbra password is valid only until end of February 2010.

You will also be notified later when the VOISS/SMS/PGS and E-Lib are accessible through this NETID.

Dear PTPTN holders,

To ensure that you are eligible to receive payment from PTPTN this semester, you are STRICTLY REQUIRED to fulfill the followings:

1. Student status must be ACTIVE for the current semester

Students are advised to register your courses officially and make sure Active (Academic Status) appear in the system (VOISS / SMS) before 29/1/2010.


2. Your previous long semester Result (GPA) must be above 2.00

Those who want to re-check or update your result, please make sure that your latest
result is updated in VOISS / SMS by 29/1/2010.

* You are strictly advised to inform UNIT PTPTN at UNITAR KELANA JAYA if your Academic Status or Result still not updated in the system by the abovementioned date.

* We will not entertain any changes made after that date for the purpose of PTPTN payment.

* For those who have signed PTPTN agreement, your active semesters for payment are JANUARY and JULY semesters only (unless changed by PTPTN).

Dear Students,

The United States Embassy in Malaysia is pleased to invite candidates to apply for the 2010 Study of the U.S. Institute program:Student Leaders Institute on New Media.

This Study of the U.S. Institute for Student Leaders on New Media is an intensive, rigorous five-week program whose purpose is to provide groups of undergraduate student leaders with a deeper understanding of the United States while simultaneously enhancing their leadership skills. The program's ultimate goal is to underscore the impact of new technologies on journalism, and give participants new skills such as working with on-line photos and videos; 'twittering;' publishing blogs; utilizing social networking and other internet sites; and other new technologies.

The program will be held in May - June 2010.

CANDICATES QUALIFICATIONS:

(A) Candidates are expected to be highly motivated and exemplary undergraduate students from colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education. While all candidates must have a strong interest in new media, their fields of study can include disciplines such as Graphic Design, Information Technology or Computer Science, International Affairs, Journalism, Literature, Media, Photography, and Public Relations.

(B) Candidates nominated for this program must:

 be a Malaysian citizen;

 have a strong interest in the new media;

 be fluent in English;

 be 25 years of age or younger;

 have at least one semester remaining in their university studies and be committed to returning home to complete their degree;

 demonstrate strong leadership qualities;

 indicate a serious interest in learning about the United States;

 have a sustained high level of academic achievement, as indicated by grades, awards, and teacher recommendations;

 have demonstrated commitment to community and extracurricular university activities;

 have had little or no prior study or travel experience in the United States or elsewhere outside of their home country;

 be mature, responsible, independent, confident, open-minded, tolerant, thoughtful, and inquisitive;

 be willing and able to fully participate in an intensive academic program, community service, and educational travel; and

 be comfortable with campus life, prepared to share living accommodations, and able to make adjustments to cultural and social practices different from those of their home country.

It is a 2^nd week of this semester! You have started your study life once again BUT this time it is totally different from what you have experienced during your schooling period.

Why and what’s the different?????

Ø No more fixed schedule! You can sleep for whole day long if no class on that day (but beware, mind you own schedule!)

Ø Now, you have more freedom in life and there will be no one to supervise you.

Ø Can know more friends from different states and different countries.

Ø There is no need to wear uniform and no more long winded assembly every morning.

Ø You can go for a walk or go shopping should there is a long break between classes.

BUT...

Ø There is no parents or school bus to fetch you to go and come back from classes if you stay alone here.

Ø Have to fix every meal by yourself.

Ø Have to settle your own bills and rental if you are staying alone.

Ø Have to learn how to share things with others when you live together with coursemates or roommates.

Can you fit yourself well now with these differences???

For those who have SUCCESSFULLY FIT THEMSELVES well now, CONGRATULATIONS and,

For those WHO ARE STILL STRUGGLING TO FIT yourself here, DO NOT WORRY, we do understand that staying away from home to study is never been an easy task. Here are some few tips that can help you get through it.

v Join, Play & Relax! ~ Be Active! Join clubs, societies and programs available, have Fun Playing with their activities and Relax with it!

v Say ‘I will miss you’ to the Past and say ‘Hello! I’m coming!’ to the Present ~ Try limit the contact with your loved ones to call once or twice a week, text message, Facebook, Msn so that you will learn not to too attach to the past. Give yourself some time and it will be OK soon!

v Be Brave and Talk! ~ make friends around you, be brave and talk to anyone you meet, you are the freshie and so do they! They might be just like you waiting someone to talk to them! Also get to know the senior, the more friends, the merrier!

v Nothing is always perfect! ~ Don’t ever compare past and present as it is totally different. Try to accept and experience it, you might like it as well!

v Get Busy! ~ Write a daily diary, plan outing with new and old friends, join activities, programs from clubs and societies But in the same time, never forget to study! Get busy with your time!

v Eat, Exercise and Sleep! ~ Take good care of yourself. Eat well, Exercise Well and Sleep Well!

Study life is more challenging now, accept the challenge and it will get you stronger than before. Be proud that you are a university student now.

ENROLLMENT FOR UNITAR'S FOUNDATION/DIPLOMA TO BACHELOR PROGRAMME


Dear Valued Students,


We are pleased to inform you that University Senate has endorsed results for August 2009 semester. For successful students from Foundation and Diploma programmes entering Bachelor programme, the registration will begin as follow for Kelana Jaya:

: 10th January 2010 (Sunday) till 13th January 2010 (Wednesday)
Time

: 9.00am - 4.30pm
Venue

: One Stop Centre, Ground Floor, Block A, Kelana Jaya

However student at Regional Centre is advised to refer/contact their respective officer -in-charge at their respective Regional Centre.

For registration purposes, please follow the instruction below:-

1.

Registration as new student for Bachelor program

a. Please bring along minimum of RM1,500.00 for registration fees. This payment is compulsory.
Payment should be made out to Universiti Tun Abdul Razak by
Credit Card/CIMB Clicks/Bank Draft/Postal Order/Money Order. Cash payments are acceptable.

b. Upon payment, register yourself with the Academic Administration.
NEW MATRIC NUMBER will be issued to enable you to register for courses (courses registration will begin from
11th January 2010 – 22nd January 2010,2 weeks only)

c. You are also required to bring along the following documents during the registration day:-

* UNITAR’s Academic Transcript & copy of Foundation scroll

* 1 passport-sized colored photograph for Matric Card

Financial outstanding

a. Any financial outstanding must be settled before Registration can be done.
Student is required to produce the receipt for proof of payment.
